The OPC Xi specification and server base code is available under the Xi Public License and can be downloaded below.
OPC Foundation members can download a full Xi server and client implementation from the OPC Foundation web site.

There are already Xi server and client components available from component vendors. Free evaluation downloads are availabel on teh vendor web sites.

Contracts, Server Base Code and Specification V1.1.103 2.57 MB ZIP file. This download contains a Visual Studio 2008 solution with projects for the Xi WCF contracts and server base code. The server base project contains a base level of code to support server applications. This code handles connections with clients, providing a base level of support, before calling override methods implemented by the server implementation code. This code should be used by all Xi server implementations to ensure a high level of interoperability. The reference code is intended for use by toolkit vendors. Commercial Xi servers should be based on products from toolkit vendors that are supported and maintained. The Xi base code is provided "as-is". You bear the risk of using it. The contributors give no express warranties, guarantees or conditions and no support.
